Meeting the Heroes

It's time for an Absolution update!

So, what is Absolution about?

The short answer: it’s a story about three oddballs traveling up a mountain.

The longer answer: it’s about what that journey costs them — and what they discover about themselves along the way.

Who are these oddballs? What’s so important about a mountain? Why are they even traveling together?

Let’s take a closer look.

Will:

A veteran of war.

Being constantly surrounded by pain and death has left him with a gift that feels more like a curse: he knows when someone is about to die. He never knows who, where, or when — only that it’s soon. And every time, he’s been right. He’s also been powerless to stop it.

To escape the weight of those visions, Will turned to drinking. He hates seeing others die, but the alcohol helps him forget — at least for a while.

Carol:

Carol always carries a sword, though she never draws it in battle. She only unsheathes it when it rains.

To an untrained eye, her movements might look erratic — random swings cutting through the downpour. But look closer: the sword never gets wet.

Carol doesn’t allow herself many luxuries. This quiet ritual is one of the few she keeps.

Aska:

An older man lost somewhere between reality and imagination. He believes himself to be a great wizard and insists that Will and Carol are his companions on a quest to slay the evil “Goltec.” Whether that’s true or not… well, that’s something even he might not know anymore.

Together, these three misfits travel to a mountain said to twist reality itself — a place where emotion becomes power, memories are weaponized, and forgiveness becomes dangerous.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more about how their stories tie into Absolution’s unique Mood System, where emotions don’t just influence the narrative — they decide how you fight, react, and survive.
